Aren’t you glad that every day can be a new day? I am! We have an opportunity to start afresh every day. We don’t have to carry yesterday’s problems into the next day. It is tough not to. But it is possible when you allow God’s mercies to wash over you.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.”
–Lamentations 3:22-24 ESV
Keeping your focus on the Problem Solver and not the problem is key to keeping that worry at bay.
You set yourself up for success if you make spending time with Jesus every day a priority. Combating worry becomes more manageable when your focus is on what is good instead of what is wrong.
You will find that the peace that comes from spending quality time with Jesus is essential in warding off negativity. It becomes easier to stay focused on the good when your attitude adjusts to becoming more and more thankful for all that God has done for you.
Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising Him always.”
–Philippians 4:8 TPT
Make praising Him every day a priority so that you crowd out all else. The only way that works is to begin your day with Jesus first. Invite Jesus into your day all day long. It is the best way to maintain a pure heart. You know what they say, “practice makes perfect!”
When your heart is full of praise, it has no room for anything else!
“This is the day which the Lord has made; Let’s rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 NASB Let’s take advantage of the gift of a new day. It is a gift we don’t want to waste. His mercies ARE new each day!
There is grace to start over. Find something to be thankful for; it is present. You may have to adjust your focus a bit or maybe a lot to see them.
