You may think that as long as you’ve got good content in your nonfiction manuscript, or a good story with lots of conflict and interesting characters in your fiction manuscript, that should be enough. And yes, content and story are very important. But no matter how good those things are, if you have too many mistakes in your manuscript, it may not go any farther than the acquisitions editor’s desk.
